Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) Testing

Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) Testing

LEV, Local Extract Ventilation, is an extract ventilation system which takes pollutants such as dusts, mists, gases, vapour or fumes out of the air to eliminate the risk of injection by personnel.

This is a critical service due to growing pressure on companies to monitor their environmental footprint and to avoid health complaints from employees. In around 10% of UK businesses, there is some respiratory exposure risks such as; dust, mist, gas and vapour

Thousands of British workers may contract occupational asthma and other lung diseases each year. Many people die or are permanently disabled by these conditions and are unable to work. People develop these diseases because they breathe in too much dust, fume or other airborne contaminants at work, often because control measures do not work well enough. Most industries are affected including engineering, woodworking, welding, paint spraying, stone masonry and foundry work.

Under the current Control of Substances Hazadardous to Health Relations (CoSHH), Local Exhaust Ventilation systems (LEV) require testing every 14 months.

Cammach provides a portfolio of services for LEV (Local exhaust ventilations) which includes the design, supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance of equipment to ensure that your company is meeting these requirements as laid out by Regulation 9 of C0SHH and the HSG258 guidance notice.

LEV testing will collect the air which contains contaminants and ensure that the contaminants are removed efficiently and safely. Our LEV inspectors are qualified to British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) P601 standard in commissioning and thorough examination and testing of LEV.
